Since this summer, or maybe even longer, R has been in the porcess for a new job. It is the same type he is doing now, just a different county. Yesterday he took and passed a physical agility test. It was the last step in getting this job. I had planned a party for last night thinkging he would be done with the paperwork and such by 4 or 5 at the latest. Ha. Poor guy didn't get home until 9pm. Good thing he has such great friends who sat around and chatted and ate snacks until he got here.
Along with this job comes a new schedule for both of us. Right now R and I work the same day every four days. The new job requires him to work one every three days. We mapped it out... we'll work three days a month together, have three days where one of us is going to work as the second person is coming home, and the rest are a mix of days when one works and the other is off. Good thing we have at least a year to get used to this schedule before any babies show up. (No, no babies yet.)
I guess I've gotten pretty spoiled being able to come home and know that my husband will be home the same three days and we'll be able to get things done around the house, go on trips or just hang out. It will take some adjustments, but we can do it.
On a happy note: wouldn't you love to live here?
This is St Thomas. First port of our honeymoon. It was really hot that day.
