7th Annual Thanksgiving Team Haneman Turkey Trot

And by Turkey Trot, I mean Bucks Co, PA 5 MILE race.

Since 2003 (or possibly before) a number of my family members have participated in a 5 mile race. I have run 4 times over the years. This year, my dad, Aunt P and Aunt D chose to participate in the 1 mile Fun Run/ Walk instead of the full 5 miles. There were 13 others who ran the 5 miles. They placed from 3rd to 740th.

Pictures courtesy of Aunt D and myself.

To start the race, one must wear the proper footwear:

The consensus? Hot electric shoe colors help you run faster.
Stretching is the next recommended step:

Start by looking at your feet, then sit on the ground and contort your body into strange, abonormal positions. Like J there. Or you can do it like normal people like C.

Choose your running buddies:

The Third Trimester!

Yay! Yesterday was 28 weeks. We've made it to the last third of my pregnancy. I am really excited about this. January is right around the corner. And while I don't expect Baby K to make her appearance until close to February, I just feel like we are in the home stretch.

Since I last posted (about 8 weeks ago) there have been some changes. Most notably: my size. =) And how much I can feel when she moves. R can now feel her moving if he just puts his hand lightly on my belly. If you're looking for the movement, you can sit there and watch my abdomen move when she's kicking and squirming. I still say there is no doubt that this girl is R's child. She bounces and dances and LOVES sugar.

Here's a couple of pictures from the past few months.

September: P, J and G came to visit. We told P that Baby K was the size of a banana. Here he is talking to his cousin Baby Banana.

October: R's idea of a nice picture... you can't see it, but I'm barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.

We braved Hurricane Sandy...

And celebrated by feeding the baby ice cream for breakfast the next day.

And we've made it to November: here we are a few days before 28 weeks. Please forgive the open dishwasher in the back. R was lazing on the couch instead of cleaning up.

I'm planning on posting the nursery.... but we all know that the best laid plans of mice and... well you know the rest. =)

Enjoy the colder weather. I know we are!
