I know this post is long over-due. I've been having computer issues recently and this is the first time I have been able to sit down to a computer without Russell having to steal it back. So here we go. Russell proposed to me on Friday. Thursday we had been dating for two years. I had to work from 7am to 11pm and Russell had the day off. When I got home I kinda gave Russell a little grief for not getting me flowers for our two year anniversary. The next morning, while I was playing with my iPod, Russell ran into the room, got down on his knees next to the bed and tossed a small box at me. He then said "I didn't get you flowers, but I got you this instead." And then "Notice how I am down on my knees." I started shaking and opened the box. It held the ring. Of course I am so surprised. I did not expect Russell to propose even though I wanted him to so much. I asked him if he was serious and he said yes. I put the ring on my finger and Russell told me of his adventures he took to get it just the night before. Thrusday evening Russell decided he was going to head across the bridge to the jewlery store to buy me an engagement ring. He took our friend Allyson with him. While driving he realized he hadn't talked to my parents at all so he sent my mom a text message saying he was in the area and could he stop by. Well showing up with Allyson in tow threw off my mom for a minute and she though he really was "just in the area," until he blurted out "I'm going to the jewlery store to get Elizabeth a ring." Needless to say my mother was extatic! Because my dad wasn't home from Boyscouts yet, Russell and Allyson headed to Reed's to buy this ring. They came back and Russell talked to my dad about proposing. He told everyone about these marvelous plans he had on how to propose such as coming back from Vegas and meeting me at airport security with a t-shirt that said "Elizabeth will you marry me?" But how he ended up doing it worked out quite well. I am really excited! I am looking forward to planning the wedding but even more importantly, I am looking forward to the rest of my life with Russell. =)
